You might have come across many blogs that said that having a Dhaniya drink can reduce your weight but in our opinion, it is not complete truth only having Dhaniya water will not help you to lose weight. Adding a lemon will reduce some weight but not only Dhaniya.

No. There has never been any evidence from the research that lemon and coriander would reduce weight. I did look it up though, assuming there must be a bogus health claim somewhere, and found one in Indiatimes.com. The claim was that you would lose 5 Kg. in 5 days by drinking a mixture of water, lemon juice, and coriander.
That’s not even remotely possible. You would have to be dying of dehydration to drop that much weight in 5 days. To lose 5 Kg. of fat in 5 days, you would need to create a deficit of about 50,000 calories. You probably eat about 2,200 calories a day, so you see why losing weight that fast doesn’t make sense.
I also considered the claims made in the article for why consuming these substances would result in weight loss. The explanation was very vague and did not reference any study. This is the explanation:
“Coriander aids in digestion and boost immunity. It is also a natural diuretic, eliminates flatulence and acts as a blood tonic and purifier. On the other hand, lemon purifies the blood, it also contains potassium which controls high blood pressure and reduces the effect of nausea and dizziness.”
Nothing about this description should lead you to believe consuming it would make you lose any weight. On the other hand, it’s not harmful and it doesn’t cost a lot of money, so if you like it, go right ahead and have some.
